The 2021 ESO Stroke Summer School will be held virtually from 21-23 October. The summer school is organised by the Local Organising Committee in Caen, France who have put together an excellent Scientific Programme including presentations from students and international faculty. Inspite of the virtual meeting, the local organisers are determined to maintain the social aspect ofsummer school and are working on a vitual social programme for all participants and faculty. ESO Stroke Summer School

The ESO Stroke Summer School is a flagship event for ESO and a prestigious educational meeting for stroke trainees throughout Europe.

It is organised each year by a team of stroke physicians in an European city, Caen, France was chosen to initially host in 2020 but postponed to 2021 due to travel restrictions and have decided to host a virtual event in 2021 in order to deliver stroke education and avoid travel restrictions and uncertainties.

Over the course of three days, stroke specialists from Europe will provide their expert knowledge to young physicians with a major interest in cerebrovascular diseases. The detailed Programme is avaliable via the Stroke Summer School website.

Who Should Apply?

Target participants should be:

  • Stroke physicians and researchers in early stage of career interested in cerebrovascular diseases.

  • Currently in training in an European teaching hospital treating acute stroke patients.

  • Fluent in English.

  • ESO Member

A maximum of 40 participants, two applicants per country (max. three from the host country) and one applicant per site will be accepted. The expected benefit to the individual and to his/her stroke unit and country will be weighed.
