The ESO YSPR committee has been actively involved in many initiatives this year, and we are excited about the opportunities and events that lie ahead.

One of the highlights was ESOC 2024 in Basel, Switzerland. The conference provided a platform for sharing important developments in stroke care, and the YSRP Research Design Workshop allowed young researchers to present their projects and receive constructive feedback. It was a valuable experience for all involved, with new ideas and collaborations emerging.

In collaboration with the European Stroke Journal (ESJ), the YSRP Young Reviewer Programme continued this year, giving young researchers the chance to engage with the peer-review process alongside experienced mentors. We are happy to announce that we selected 15 new mentees to start another round of this programme next year.

The Department to Department Programme remained a key initiative, providing an opportunity for stroke physicians to exchange knowledge and experiences. This programme has been well-received and continues to support international collaboration. We encourage those interested to apply for 2025 visits.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to start a new initiative, Back to Bedside, that aims to emphasise clinical skills that are important for stroke physicians.

The ESO blog has been an important space for sharing updates, insights, and reports on YSPR activities and latest research. Thanks to all the bloggers on the ESO blog for making the content so timely and varied.

Finally, we would like to thank all ESO members for their contributions to the success of our initiatives and events this year. We look forward to continuing our work together in the coming year.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year 2025!
