ESOC 2017 Abstracts Published in ESJ
European Stroke Journal (ESJ), the official journal of the European Stroke Organisation published its first issue in March 2016. Headed up by Editor-in-Chief Professor Bo Norrving and Vice Editor Professor Didier Leys and supported by a world class Editorial Board, the journal recently celebrated its first, highly successful, full year of publication.
In its inaugural 2016 volume year ESJ received 137 papers for review and in 2017 to date over 50 papers have already been submitted. With a strong emphasis on quality ESJ maintains an acceptance rate of just over 30%. In addition to a stringent quality agenda, the Editorial team also place a great deal of emphasis on speed to publication – over the past 12 months the average time from submission to first decision has been 35 days and papers are currently publishing online approximately 2 weeks after being accepted. ESJ is attracting articles from all over the world – to date papers have been received from 38 countries, with the UK, USA, Germany and Sweden submitting the most content so far.
ESJ is a fully peer-reviewed journal covering clinical stroke research from all fields. Published research includes, but is not limited to, clinical trials, epidemiology, primary and secondary prevention, diagnosis, acute and post-acute management, guidelines, translation of experimental findings into clinical practice, rehabilitation, organisation of stroke care, and societal impact.
