This report provides an overview of my academic, clinical, and research achievements during my Master’s programme in Stroke Medicine, which was supported by the ESO Scholarship.

Stroke is a leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide, and advancing my education in this specialised field has equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to address this major health challenge. I would like to highlight the key milestones and progress achieved during the programme, as well as the impact of the scholarship on my professional development.

The Master’s programme in Stroke Medicine is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of stroke pathophysiology, diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation. The curriculum covered a wide range of topics critical to stroke care.

The European Stroke Master provided ample networking opportunities with peers, professors, and global experts in stroke care. These interactions were invaluable for exchanging ideas, discussing the latest research, and fostering future collaborations. One of the standout features of the European Stroke Master programme was the onsite weeks. These onsite weeks not only provided us with theoretical insights but also fostered interactive learning through group discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and feedback from world-class instructors. During these onsite weeks, as well as during all 2 years of education, we attended lectures from leading stroke experts, participated in hands-on workshops, and engaged in case discussions that revolved around real clinical scenarios.

During the programme, I participated in several clinical rotations at leading stroke centres, where I gained hands-on experience in stroke diagnosis and management.

A critical component of the Master’s programme involved completing a research thesis, where I investigated the impact of sleep apnea on stroke severity and outcome and that provided me with hands-on experience in stroke-related research.

The Master’s programme in Stroke Medicine, made possible by the scholarship, has been instrumental in shaping my career as a stroke specialist. Through rigorous academic training, hands-on clinical experience, and valuable research opportunities, I have developed the skills and knowledge necessary to make a meaningful impact in stroke care.

I am deeply grateful to the scholarship committee for their support and investment in my education. This opportunity has empowered me to contribute to the advancement of stroke medicine, and I am determined to continue this work in the years ahead, improving outcomes for stroke patients and reducing the global burden of this devastating condition.
