MEDIA INVITATION – European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC), Milan, 22-24 May
You are cordially invited to the 5th annual European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC)
22-24 May 2019
MiCo Milano Congressi, Milan, Italy
www.micomilano.it
Join the world’s leading experts in stroke prevention, care and rehabilitation at ESOC 2019 and help reduce the burden of stroke by sharing the latest data, developments and innovation with your audiences. The ESOC 2019 programme includes a range of topics for healthcare professionals, patient advocates and the general public. Highlights to pique your interest, include:
- ASTER-2
Mechanical thrombectomy has revolutionised acute ischaemic stroke treatment, but fully re-opening the blocked artery is not always achievable. ASTER-2 is the first head-to-head comparison of two different approaches – contact aspiration plus stent retriever versus stent retriever alone – to optimise revascularization rates in acute stroke patients receiving thrombectomy.
- RESCUE-BRAIN
‘Remote ischaemic conditioning’ reduces stroke size in animal models, but can this elegant approach be translated from lab to bedside? RESCUE-BRAIN is the largest, and first multicentre, remote conditioning study to date seeking to prove a neuroprotective effect and enhanced recovery.
- RATULS
Are robotics the future of stroke rehabilitation? If you’ve ever wondered how (and how effectively) robots work with patients in a gym session, you’ll be interested in RATULS, the largest clinical study of robot-assisted training for improving upper limb function after stroke.
A media briefing will be held ahead of the opening plenary on 22 May featuring a selection of key study data presented by the lead investigators. Access to a media room will also be available throughout the conference. More details will be provided closer to the event.
