The aim of this workshop is to familiarise residents and young neurologists with the management of patients with rare causes of stroke. It will provide up-to-date guidance, through lectures and case reports concisely summarised by experts in the field, describing the diagnosis and treatment of rare causes of stroke, such as non-inflammatory blood vessel disorders (CADASIL/CARASIL, Fabry’s disease, Fibromuscular dysplasia, Moyamoya disease, MELAS, Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome, Sneddon’s syndrome, Vasospasam after subarachoidal haemorrhage), inflammatory blood vessel disorders (Isolated angiitis of the central nervous system, Susac syndrome), hematological disorders (coagulation disorders, antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, Sickle cell disease) and miscellaneous disorders (Migrenous stroke, Bone diseases and stroke, Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis).
