Travel Information
The workshop will be held at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Neurologico “Carlo Besta” in Milan. Founded in 1918, it is a comprehensive research institute of international importance, and certainly the largest specialized centre for neurological disorders in Italy. In the regional and national health framework, the Fondazione IRCCS “Carlo Besta” is a center of excellence for research and treatment of the most significant neurological diseases. Besta synergistically combines the activities of scientific research, diagnosis and treatment – which give rise to a continuous improvement of therapeutic efficacy – in the field of clinical and basic neurology and deals with neurological disorders in adults and children, neurosurgical and oncological pathologies, chronic and rare diseases. The strength of this institute is the exceptionally effective collaboration between neurologists, biologists, researchers, radiologists and neurosurgeons both for clinical and research activities.
By Air: Milan is located in the centre of Europe and is one of the easiest cities to reach. Every week 2.549 direct flights connect Milan to over 200 destinations around the world. Malpensa airport is the most important intercontinental hub in southern Europe and is well connected to the city center thanks to the high-speed Malpensa Express train. Two other international airports serve the city: Linate, just 7 km from the Duomo, and Orio al Serio, where the low-cost companies land.
By Train: Three rail companies operate in Milan: Trenitalia for national and international routes, Italo for high-speed national routes and Trenord for local transportation.
By Road: Milano is at the right center of the European highway network, linked to every part of Italy and Europe.
