RES-Q Update

2017 has been a very successful year for countries participating in RES-Q, and the project is still growing rapidly thanks to everyone’s contributions. As an ESO and WSO endorsed tool for national and international benchmarking of stroke care quality, RES-Q continues to expand to involve more stroke centers and more countries. As of the beginning of February 2018, there are now 350 participating hospitals in 36 countries which have contributed data for nearly 20,000 patients. RES-Q is a core component of the ESO-EAST program, and in 2017 became an official registry for the ESO Angels Awards. Participating countries are also using the RES-Q platform to become involved in the QASC Europe (Quality in Acute Stroke Care) project, and to work with the Angels Initiative to improve stroke readiness at all stroke centers.

For stroke centers that are already participating in RES-Q, or for centers that would like to start participating, the next round of data collection will take place in March 2018. RES-Q is also releasing an updated questionnaire based on feedback from all participants in 2017. This form will be available for all centers for the next round of data collection, as well as for centers using RES-Q for continuous quality monitoring. The RES-Q data dictionary will also be published on the RES-Q website shortly, to coincide with the release of the new questionnaire.

More information about RES-Q, or about any of the aforementioned programs can be found on the RES-Q website (www.qualityregistry.eu).
