DESCRIPTION:The event is an annual meeting involving different professional
 s involved in caring for stroke patients\, including stroke physicians (in
 ternal medicine and neurology)\, general practitioners (stroke prevension)
 \, rehabilitation doctors and physiotherapists\, cardiologists\, intervent
 ional neuroradiologists\, neurosurgeons\, stroke nurses and junior doctors
 . The focus is the different aspects of stroke care\, from primary and sec
 ondary prevention to acute treatment and reabilitation. There are differen
 t types of presentations\, including controversial topics (pros and cons s
 essions\, where one expert advocates one side/treatment and the other expe
 rt argues against)\, difficult case discussions (involving different medic
 al specialties)\, seminars and round tables focusing on specific issues. A
 ttendants are stimulated to actively participate by televote. There are al
 so sessions where original research is presented. Best presentations are a
 warded scholarships for fellowship training programmes in international ce
